2026 CHEER SEASON
PHYC is open to cheerleaders in grades K-6th grade. The cheer squads support PJFL during the fall football season. Recreational cheerleading is sideline cheer, where cheerleaders pump up their team, engage fans and become great athletes. The program is designed to teach fundamental cheer skills that participants can build on throughout their years in the youth cheer program.
Season Overview
The cheer season runs from August through early October. Please note that the cheer schedule is based on the PJFL schedule. Information will be released once the football drafts are completed in mid-July. Unfortunately, we do not make the football schedule so we cannot change the game times.
Registration Dates
Onlineregistration will be held from April 1st-30th. ALL cheerleaders need to complete an online registration form and sign-up for a uniform sizing date. As we are getting new uniforms for the 2026 season, it is MANDATORY to attend one of the two in-person fittings.
Uniform fittings will be at the Falls Park Sports Complex:
Saturday, May 16th; 9am- 12pm
Tuesday, May 19th; 5- 7:30pm
Each uniform is custom-sized for each cheerleader, so we are unable to offer late registrations/uniform ordering. Please have your child wear tight fitting clothing to be sized for uniforms, so the sizers can be slipped on over them.
Registration Fees
We make every effort to keep costs low and affordable for all families! The registration fee for all cheerleaders is $75 + cost of the uniform. Registration fees include the sponsor t-shirt and hair bow. We do offer a $15 discount for sibling registrations.
We accept cash, check or Venmo for registration fees.
Uniforms
For the 2026 season, we are wearing new uniforms! Each uniform is custom-sized for each cheerleader, so we are unable to offer late registrations/uniform ordering. Please have your child wear tight fitting clothing to be sized for uniforms, so the sizers can be slipped on over them.
Uniforms a la carte pricing is as follows:
Shell/Skirt: $98
Bloomers: $11
Poms: $25
We also offer backpacks for $25 and long-sleeve, midriff tops for under uniforms for $27. These are optional, but great to have!
In addition to the shell/skirt, bloomers, and poms, all cheerleaders are required to wear white socks and white tennis shoes at games. These items can be purchased separately, and we do not have a specific requirement.
Practices/Games
Practices take place once per week (Thursday) with most games occurring on Saturday. While most games are on Saturdays, there will be occasional weekday games in the evenings. We cheer rain or shine! Practices and games are at the Falls Park Sports Complex. Program Day and the Championship games are at Pendleton Heights High School.
